As part of his probation, Mr. Doran was

As a result, he violated Rule 54(e), ARIZ.R.S.CT.
DANIEL T. McCARTHY
Bar No. 006396; File No. 13-0505
PDJ No. 2013-9027
On April 22, 2013, the presiding disciplinary
judge granted the State Bar’s motion for order
of interim suspension and placed Daniel T.
McCarthy, Phoenix, on interim suspension,
effective April 26, 2013. Mr. McCarthy was
granted a reasonable opportunity, with restrictions, to finish settling his only remaining case
but was forbidden to handle any money related
to it. The order also froze Mr. McCarthy’s trust
account and enjoined his trust-account bank
from making any payments without the State
Bar’s approval or by further order. The suspension will continue in effect until final disposition
of all pending proceedings against Mr.
McCarthy, unless earlier vacated or modified.
The presiding disciplinary judge determined
following a hearing that Mr. McCarthy paid
himself a total of $66,631.84 out of client funds
that did not belong to him. Mr. McCarthy
acknowledged in writing that he cannot explain
these withdrawals and that he converted funds
belonging to his clients to pay his bills.
