withdrawn from the consent
agenda and will be discussed
separately. Nothing else was

Agenda, and the board voted
unanimously to approve the
remainder of the items as
submitted.

Chair Lisa Loo reported:
a. Arizona Supreme Court
Committee on Character and
Fitness–Public Members–two
openings. The committee inter-
viewed seven applicants. Emily
Holliday, the Supreme Court’s
Attorney Admission Manager,
sat in on the five in-person inter-
views. Two interviews were done
telephonically due to the candi-
dates’ scheduling conflicts.

six nominations be sent to the
Arizona Supreme Court for
its consideration and ultimate
selection to fill the positions:
Fernando Gonzales, Chantell
Cornett, Judith Register,
Thomas Mitchell, Alexander
Jamison and David Hyde. The
Court requests three nominations per opening.

After discussion, the board
voted unanimously to send
the six names recommended
by the committee to the
Court, noting the votes each
had received, with the stipulation that the transmittal
letter would include an
acknowledgment that,
should the Court choose
to reappoint an incumbent
if that individual is eligible,
the board would support
said action as has been the
board’s previous practice
with regard to eligible
incumbents.
b. Arizona Supreme Court
Committee on Character and
Fitness–Lawyer Members–four
openings.
3 The committee recommended
12 nominations be sent to the
Arizona Supreme Court for
its consideration and ultimate
selection to fill the four
attorney vacancies: Mark R.
(“MCAO”) became involved in a
number of disputes and lawsuits
involving members of the
Maricopa County Board of
Supervisors, sitting Superior Court
judges and others.
In 2009, Mr. Thomas prompt-
County Attorney, Alexander was
hired as a deputy county attorney
and his special assistant. In that
role, Ms. Alexander did not handle
cases and performed non-legal
tasks. In 2006, the Maricopa
