Case in Arizona
THURSDAY
Our panel of distinguished jurists, trial lawyers and forensic experts
will explore how in-house and business counsel can better prepare
their clients/companies for the challenges of dealing with major
litigation without upsetting on going operations. We will provide
guidance on procedures that can be implemented before litigation
becomes an issue and offer insights on what to expect and how to
prepare for litigation once it is imminent and as it progresses. We
will also examine the challenges faced and strategies to be employed
when trying to resolve a complex business dispute through ADR,
litigation and trial.
MORNING
FRIDAY
Special taxing districts are political subdivisions of the state.
Under Arizona law, there are more than 30 different types of
special taxing districts. Special taxing districts have tax-levying
authority and other powers similar to municipalities. Though
some districts share common characteristics, there are many
differences among the various types of districts. This program
will provide an overview of the purpose and use of special
taxing districts and the unique aspects of particular types of
districts, including community facilities districts, fire districts,
multi-county water conservation districts and irrigation
districts.
