Mr. Friedlander’s client.
Aggravating factors: prior disciplinary
offenses, refusal to accept wrongful nature of
conduct, and substantial experience in the practice of law.
Mitigating factor: remoteness of prior
offenses and full and free disclosure to disciplinary board or cooperative attitude towards proceedings.
The hearing panel concluded that Mr.
Friedlander violated Rule 42, ARIZ.R.S.CT.,
specifically ERs 1. 2(a), 1. 3, 1. 4, 1. 16(a),
1. 16(d), 3. 2, 8. 4(c), and 8. 4(d).

By final judgment and order of the presiding
disciplinary judge dated Oct. 22, 2013, William
M. Spence, Chandler, was reprimanded pursuant to an amended agreement for discipline
by consent. As agreed, Mr. Spence was ordered
to change his membership status with the State
Bar from active to retired and he was assessed
the costs and expense of the disciplinary proceeding. If he wishes to return to active status,
he must undergo a fitness-to-practice assessment.
In File 11-0641, Mr. Spence admitted that
he used coarse language when speaking with a
client and her parents.
In File 11-1923, Respondent admitted that
he inappropriately touched another client on
the back during a hearing and used coarse language when speaking with her during the representation.

offenses, a pattern of misconduct, multiple
offenses, and substantial experience in the practice of the law.
Mitigating factors: full and free disclosure to
disciplinary board or cooperative attitude

consent, the presiding disciplinary judge

2013, in which Steven E. Sufrin, Phoenix, was
suspended for 30 days commencing 30 days

Sufrin also was placed on probation for one year
