Environmental “CARMA”
(Conservation Activities, Regulation,
Management and Administration)
in Indian Country
The;Gold;King;Mine;Animas;River;spill,;and;the;resulting;fallout;in
the Navajo Nation, has brought to the forefront the importance of
communication, accountability and coordination with Indian
sovereigns, authorities and agencies, in order to preserve and protect
the environment in Indian Country and achieve and maintain good
environmental;karma;(CARMA);there.;This;program;explores;multiple
manifestations;of;environmental;protection;efforts;in;Indian;Country
and;applies;them;using;the;Gold;King;Mine;Animas;River;spill;as;a
case study. Anticipated speakers include those who have worked from
the Federal, State and Indian sovereign perspectives, plus a special
guest or two.

PTSD: Diagnosis and Treatment
and Forensic Labor Market
Consultants: Things to Consider
The;first;half;of;this;course;will;focus;on;PTSD,;its;treatment;and
diagnosis, and its applicability to workers’ compensation cases. The
second half of the course will cover issues confronting labor market
consultants;(LMC’s);in;both;workers’;compensation;and;personal
injury matters. Additional topics to be covered will include loss of
earning;capacity;(LEC);determinations,;tips;on;testifying,;and;life
care planning strategies. Included in this panel will be a Workers
Compensation Practitioner and a Personal Injury Practitioner, to
discuss;differences;between;PI;and;WC;cases.
